Psychotherapy and Consultation Berkeley and San Francisco

About Me

I have been working in the counseling and public health fields for the last 20 years, primarily in health care settings and with traumatized and marginalized populations. These experiences have taught me about people's capacity to be resilient in the midst of overwhelming obstacles. I understand the tangible desire we all have to be the best we can be, whether in relationship with others or individually. I feel very honored to do this type of work and to be able to help people make the changes they seek.

I hold Masters' degrees in Social Work and Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of California. I have a psychotherapy practice in San Francisco's Hayes Valley and in Central Berkeley.

My psychotherapy practice is eclectic and is significantly informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction-based practices and emotion focused therapy.

On a more personal note, I have lived in the Bay Area since 1994 and have been with my partner for 17 years. I love music, all kinds of performing and visual arts, hiking, bike riding, fiction, food, cooking, film and travel.
